Terrell Owens Blisters Cowboys’ Jerry Jones With Blunt Criticism of Ownership.
Once again, the Dallas Cowboys collapsed in the postseason, falling to the Green Bay Packers as the No. 2 seed on wild-card weekend.
Since Dallas hasn’t advanced to the NFC title game in 28 years, many NFL fans anticipate a yearly postseason catastrophe from the team.
This features Terrell Owens, a former wide receiver for the Cowboys who spent three seasons with Dallas but finished 0-2 in the playoffs.
Owens appeared on The Morning Roast with Bonta and Shaskyon KGMZ-FM in San Francisco on Friday and explained that he isn’t surprised by
another Dallas disappointment. “With the Cowboys, honestly, I kind of expected that, and that’s just me being honest,” Owens said.
“I kind of take myself out of being a fan, I try and take myself out of the biases. But that organization is just not really run well.
“I believe that certain front-office, hierarchy-type changes will need to occur for that team to truly succeed, most likely beginning
with the owner and possibly the general manager. That is my personal opinion. They will not prevail in the near future.”
With that statement, Owens explicitly targeted Jerry Jones, who runs the Cowboys as both its general manager and owner.
The former wide receiver seems to suggest that because the team is profitable, Jones doesn’t care enough about winning. “Whether they win, lose, or draw, money will always come out on top for Jerry Jones.
Thus, it makes no difference what they do,” Owens stated. “These Cowboys supporters can continue to cry, I guess. The best thing they can do is abstain from attending some of those Cowboy games for a while until they reach the NFC Championship, at the very least.”
Dallas, coming off a disappointing postseason, will again head into the upcoming season with Super Bowl hopes. But as long as Jones remains in charge, nothing will change, according to Owens.
