Aston Villa v Chelsea injury news: Doctor issues Pau Torres update.
Dr Rajpal Brar said that Pau Torres, the defender for Aston Villa, looks to be a risk for the FA Cup match on January 26 against Chelsea.
After recovering from a slight injury, the injury specialist evaluated his recent performance, noting that on
December 30, he even came off the bench against Burnley.
He was absent from the Middlesbrough and Everton matches, though, and he is still doubtful against the Blues.
Physical therapist and sports scientist Dr. Brar commented on the matter, telling Villa News that “I’d assume
it was a grade 1 with how relatively quickly he returned initially vs Burnley.”
“Yes, he’s probably not at 100% yet, but he won’t be until he gets a string of games and reliable minutes.
“But in the following games, he was not included in the matchday squads, so he is still questionable for the next one.”
Tyrone Mings, Lucas Digne, Emi Buendia, and other Aston Villa players will miss the match; Digne is anticipated to
return on or around January 30.
Bertrand Traore is also not at the game as he’s injured and also away on international duty.
Diego Carlos, Clement Lenglet and Ezri Konsa have all been tried and tested at centre-back and it remains to
be seen who Unai Emery picks for the Chelsea clash.
