Leicester City and Leeds United face competition in Celtic transfer battle

According to Sky Sports, the Catalan side have set their sights on the 23-year-old this January as they

look to push for the league title.

O’Riley has been a standout figure for Celtic, impressing this season as part of Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The midfielder has contributed 10 goals and seven assists from 21 league games, as well as three assists

The Denmark international could be on the move this winter, with several clubs showing an interest in

the player.

Matt O’Riley transfer latest

It was initially reported that Leicester City and Leeds United were interested in signing the Celtic star,

but a deal has yet to materialize.

Italian Goliaths O’Riley has also been linked to Inter Milan, although given their financial situation, they

could have to wait until the summer to make a move a specific proposal.

Even though Stefano Sensi is on the verge of agreeing to join the Foxes, it is thought that Inter must sell

before they can purchase this month.

In December, it was reported that O’Riley may fetch up to £25 million from Celtic.

Leeds and Leicester might find this to be a roadblock, and they might be prepared to hold off until they

find out if their Premier League status has been

protected prior to expending that amount of cash.

Girona is vying for a league title this year, so it’s unclear if the team will be ready to shell out that kind of

money at this point.

Currently leading the Spanish top flight table, Míchel’s team has one point more than Real Madrid

despite having played one extra game.

A Premier League team and a sizable La Liga squad are also keeping an eye on O’Riley and may make an

offer before the deadline of February 1st.
