The son of Neil Lennon is expected to play for Rangers after joining Dumbarton minutes before their

exciting Scottish Cup match.

Furthermore, Sons manager Stevie Farrell has stated that he has no qualms about starting young

Gallagher Lennon against Philippe Clement’s team in a spectacular debut.

The 18-year-old defender, who is also a promising young player from Northern Ireland, joined the

League Two team on loan from St Mirren.

And Farrell is delighted he’s arrived in time for a debut against his father’s great rivals at the Dumbarton

Stadium on Saturday night. Farrell explained: “It probably looks a bit coincidental in terms of the

timing, his surname and the team we play on Saturday.

But we have been working on the deal for about 10 days and that was us just getting it over the line.

I am glad to get him in.

“He has been brought up with all this in his family so I don’t think it will be anything that will faze the

lad.

He is on his own journey now.

It is a journey that will hopefully take him to the very top of the game If he does that then he will need to

play in these types of games.

It is all part of his learning.”

This is an advancement for young Lennon, who was on loan at Linlithgow Rose.

“He did very well at  Linlithgow, and it is about natural progression with these loans,” Farrell continued.

St. Mirren wants to see him advance to League Two, and Gallagher will be a part of our campaign for

promotion.

Running out at The Rock might be a culture shock for a lot of Clement’s guys.

However, Farrell assures

them that they won’t be abandoned—at least not until kickoff.

He said: “The hospitality here will be exactly the same as any other football club, whether it’s East Fife or

Rangers.
