Dan Patrick Details The Type Of HC Cowboys Need.

This past weekend, the Dallas Cowboys suffered their yearly playoff setback as they collapsed 48-32 in the wild card round against the Green Bay Packers.

card round, and the result doesn’t even indicate how close the game was.

Cowboys supporters demanded that head coach Mike McCarthy be fired as a result, but McCarthy is apparently staying on as the team’s head coach through 2024.Despite reports that coach Mike McCarthy will be let go after the 2024 campaign, the team is apparently choosing to retain him.

Dan Patrick, host of “The Dan Patrick Show,” says that although McCarthy has performed admirably during the regular season, Dallas requires a coach who is well-liked when the playoffs roll around.

“It’s nice to have a regular season coach who people think highly of, but you need a coach that people think highly of when it comes to the postseason. I’d like to know that we have an advantage there,” Patrick said.
This was the third year in a row that Dallas won 12 regular season games, and they looked utterly dominant at times while possessing what many felt was their most talented squad since their last Super Bowl win in the 1995 campaign.
But they have made early playoff exits a habit — in fact, they haven’t even reached the NFC Championship Game since that last Super Bowl-winning season in the mid-1990s.

Even more concerning than McCarthy’s lackluster performance has been quarterback Dak Prescott, who consistently performs poorly in the postseason despite having a stellar regular season.

He threw two interceptions early in the game against Green Bay, and while he did have three touchdown passes, two of them came with the game already decided in the fourth quarter.

After the upcoming season, he will become a free agency, and as Patrick noted, the Cowboys will need to determine if they want to stick with him or try their hand at finding another starting quarterback.
