Chris Wilder dismisses “strange” transfer links.
The manager of Cardiff City said that the Blades had made an approach to Ryan Kent, a former player for Liverpool and Rangers, but Chris Wilder
brushed down rumours tying Sheffield United to a trade for Kent.
Due to his difficulties establishing a regular spot since moving from Ibrox in the summer, Kent, who is currently with the Turkish club Fenerbahce,
has been linked to a possible departure during this transfer window.
The 27-year-old’s possible destinations in this window have been mentioned as championship teams Hull City and Cardiff City.
Kent has “serious suitors” in England, according to the head of Samsunspor, a Turkish Super Lig rival club that is also interested.
Since Kent was still at Anfield during his early days at Sheffield United, Chris Wilder has expressed interest in the player.
Wilder appears to be downplaying rumours that the Blades have made an approach for Kent, despite recent statements made by Cardiff manager Erol Bulut to that effect.
calling the circumstances “strange.” “I saw that, I’ve come across that one,” he continued.
Rob Staton said, “I don’t know if it’s someone’s after moving a player on or the Turkish link with Fenerbahce, but it’s nothing we’ve been interested in.
Considering that Ben Brereton-Diaz was just acquired and would either play as a left flank or down the middle in a two, it did look odd.
