Rangers name their price for Ridvan Yilmaz amid Galatasaray and Verona links.
Rangers have already named their price if they are to sell Ridvan Yilmaz amid links to Galatasaray and Verona.
The situation surrounding Turkish international left-back Yilmaz, 22, has been one of the longest running sagas of the transfer window.
Speculation has been rife about a move to Verona all January, with the Serie A side looking at Ridvan as a potential replacement for the outgoing Josh Doig.
There have been reports that Turkish giants Galatasaray have also offered Ridvan Yilmaz a Rangers reprieve, only to see a bid thrown out by the Ibrox side.
Now, an established Turkish journalist has slapped an official price tag on the player as Rangers manager Philippe Clement claims the defender will only leave for the right price.
Rangers name Ridvan Yilmaz price
One of the most respected figures in Turkish media, Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, has been speaking with Sports Digitale this week about the circumstances surrounding Ridvan Yilmaz.
The writer elaborates on the Galatasaray interest, saying that Rangers require a €5 million (£4.3 million) guarantee in order to allow Ridvan Yilmaz to depart.
This might take the form of funds contributed during the January window or, after an initial loan transfer, a mandatory buyout option in the summer.
There are rumors that Galatasaray did not include a mandatory purchase option in their initial loan-to-buy offer.
“Let me tell you, Galatasaray has to rent him through a compulsory purchase,” said Yagiz. “Fthis they do not fall below €5m. If a figure ofor €5m or more comes directly, they will accept his sale and let him go. But for now, Ridvan is playing.
“They (Rangers) rejected the offer in the morning, there were news like this, saying Rangers are bluffing. Ridvan has been playing in the first 11 for six matches, so there is no bluff or price increase here. There is no situation like this.
“Ridvan is one of the professionals in the current squad who is currently on Rangers’ need list. There is a perception that they want to get rid of Ridvan but there is no such situation.”
Rangers left-back staying put?
Rangers signed Ridvan Yilmaz on an initial £3.4m deal back in the summer of 2022, with the move potentially rising to £5m dependent on add-ons.
The Ibrox club is obviously unwilling to lose money on the defender, so any potential bidders for the left-back will have to accept this fact or go on.
Recently, there has been a lot of conjecture over Ridvan Yilmaz’s future, but it seems the Rangers have their demands met and are not willing to compromise.
In an emotional social media post, the player seemed to reiterate his dedication to the Rangers team as well.
All of this suggests a potential deadlock over Ridvan Yilmaz, and we don’t see the Young Turk leaving unless Galatasaray, Verona, or somebody else steps up.
