Cowboys OUT on Belichick; Falcons Hiring Coach’s Best Option?
The Dallas Cowboys made their decision on Thursday night, and much to the dismay of national media outlets who linked “America’s Team” to Bill
Belichick, there is no proof that they even spoke with him. Thus, here sits Belichick, who has won 31 playoff games, six Super Bowls, 333 career
victories, and three Coach of the Year awards over 29 seasons. He has only ever conducted an interview with the Atlanta Falcons.
Now, all Falcons owner Arthur Blank needs to do is get with Bill Belichick – one of the greatest head coaches in the history of the
NFL and American sports – one more time … and close the deal. Right? Maybe.
We still believe the former coach of the New England Patriots wants his previous leverage. He didn’t really get it via Dallas, despite his media cronies
trumping up a connection that we do not believe every existed.
Will the Philadelphia Eagles provide it to him? There’s still a chance for it, with coach Nick Sirianni hanging there.
And the Los Angeles Chargers are
still a distant memory. Thus far, Belichick has only conducted interviews with the Falcons. His options are limited by Dallas’s decision.
However, we’ll keep saying that even if the Falcons would really like to be in control of this
situation, Belichick is still the one making the decisions, seeking leverage and waiting for the ideal opportunity.
