Rabbi Matondo spent the winter break honing his shooting skills, and it paid off when he scored a goal

against Copenhagen.

The Rangers winger decided to work on his goal-scoring during his free time rather than just lazing

around after training with the Light Blues because he knew it was a skill he wanted to improve. Then,

following his return to the team, manager Philippe Clement confirmed for him what he already knew by

informing him that there was still room for improvement.

The hard work came to fruition as the Welsh international scored a lovely goal during last night’s 2-2

friendly draw but he has vowed to keep at it and ensure he keeps rippling nets when the competitive

games return.

“It felt nice and hopefully many more.”

Asked if it was something he had been working on, he explained: “Yeah, 100 per cent. Even in the off-

break we had I had a few sessions outside of Rangers.

“And upon my return, the manager told me to keep working on it because it’s something you need to

work on.”

“It clearly paid off for the game today, and I’ll keep working toward many more objectives.”

“It’s been difficult to get back up to speed (after injury) but I feel like I’m in a good way right now and

long may it continue and hopefully many more improvements and goals and assists.”

“And upon my return, the manager told me to keep working on it because it’s something you need to

work on.”

“It clearly paid off for the game today, and I’ll keep working toward many more objectives.”
