Los Angeles Rams keep former Alabama tight end

On Tuesday, the NFL franchise announced that former Alabama tight end Miller Forristall has signed a reserve/future contract with the Los Angeles Rams.
On March 13, the first day of the NFL’s 2023 business year, an NFL team may add a player to a reserve/future contract when the roster grows from 53 to 90 players for the offseason.The recently signed players are now able to take part in team activities like as OTAs, minicamps, and offseason workouts.
Only players who aren’t on NFL active rosters can sign reserve/future contracts.
Forristall did not play during the 2023 NFL season, but 2024 will be his second year with the Rams. The tight end spent all but two weeks of the 2023 campaign on the Los Angeles practice squad.
Forristall signed with New Orleans on Jan. 26. With training camp about to start, the Saints put Forristall on the physically-unable-to-perform list on July 20 with an undisclosed ailment. On July 24, the Saints announced Forristall had passed his physical, making him eligible to practice in training camp. But on July 25, New Orleans waived Forristall.The Rams were Forristall’s third team in 2023.
On August 4, Forristall became a member of the Cleveland Browns. On August 26, the Browns waived him in order to lower the number of players on their preseason roster to 53 for the regular season.
Forristall was signed by the Rams on September 12 and was initially part of their practice squad. He was released on December 5 and then re-signed the following week.
As an undrafted rookie, Forristall signed with the Tennessee Titans in May 2021 to make his NFL debut. That season, he was a member of the Browns’ and Titans’ practice squads.Forristall participated in two rookie games and four Cleveland games in 2022. Since the conclusion of the 2023 NFL regular season, Forristall became the 16th player from an Alabama high school or college to sign a reserve/future contract.
