Jerry Jones ‘Radio Silence’? No ‘Conspiracy Theory’
Having been on the receiving end of the radio mike and realizing that the person waiting to “join the show” is none other than Jerry Jones, I can
appreciate the excitement the Dallas Cowboys fan base feels when hearing about his appearances. in particular right now. However, as Cowboys
Nation watches for the proverbial cloud of white smoke to appear at the top of The Star, indicating that choices have been made?
Recognize that Jones has no intention of appearing on the team’s main radio station, 105.3 The Fan, this week.
And while his disinterest in doing so certainly might have something to do with the disappointing end to Dallas’ season, the central reason Jerry’s not
on the air this week has been explained clearly by the prominent morning host, 105.3 The Fan’s Shan Shariff.
“Yes, they have come on in the past to recap the season, but their radio agreements for the year actually
expire when the (team’s) season ends,“ said Shariff of the Jerry and Stephen Jones regular weekly guest spots.
That doesn’t mean Jerry can’t pick up the phone and invite himself on the radio whenever he wants; after all, the producer and host always appreciate
it when they see the hotline ring. And I could even guess that Jerry might do so after he and the front desk sort through the necessary tasks.
What does Jerry think about quarterback Dak Prescott, coach Mike McCarthy, and a host of other issues? As usual, he will disclose those without a
doubt. However, following this playoff setback, which was the Cowboys’ first home loss of the season and the first time ever that a No. 2 seed fell short
against a No. 7 seed? Jerry Jones is allowed by contract to pause before breaking.
