New Orleans Saints Terminate Two Offensive Assistant Coaches Along With Parting Ways With Pete Carmichael

The offensive coordinator and two offensive assistant coaches were fired by the New Orleans Saints.

Pete Carmichael, the offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints, will be leaving the team, according to head coach Dennis Allen.

Additionally, it has been reported that New Orleans fired senior offensive assistant coach Bob Bicknell and wide receivers coach Kodi Burns.

Burns’ firing was an unexpected decision. After joining the Saints in 2022, Burns completed his second season as the wide receivers coach.

He assisted in the development of All-Pro Rashid Shaheed and Chris Olave, two promising players.Michael

Thomas was placed on injured reserve on November 21 and missed seven games this season with the receiving corps.

Olave was an Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate in 2022 and led the team in receiving the past two seasons.

He has 159 receptions for 2,165 yards and nine touchdowns since the Saints drafted him as the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Shaheed developed into a “big play” threat for the New Orleans quarterbacks in 2023–24, with five receptions, one rush, and a touchdown punt return. In 27 game appearances, Shaheed recorded 74 receptions for 1,207 yards and seven receiving touchdowns.

Bob Bicknell, Dennis Allen’s senior offensive assistant, wrapped up his second season with the New Orleans Saints.

Bicknell spent his 14th NFL season and 29th total coaching a variety of positions, including wide receivers and offensive line.
