The Falcons Have Already Interviewed 4 HC Candidates

The Falcons Have Already Interviewed 4 HC Candidates.

The Atlanta Falcons brass hired a head coach for the 2024 season without much delay after dismissing head coach Arthur Smith soon after the team’s loss to the division rival New Orleans Saints in the regular season finale.

After Bill Belichick just parted company with the New England Patriots, the Falcons are likely to be among the teams pursuing him the hardest; yet, Atlanta has already conducted interviews with a number of prospects to replace Smith.

The Athletic’s Josh Kendall reports that the Falcons have interviewed four candidates for the position of head coach in Atlanta.

The Falcons are obviously conducting due diligence before possibly making a big push to persuade Belichick to replace Smith and assist in transforming Atlanta’s culture in an effort to turn around this faltering team.

After more than 20 years in New England, Belichick and the Patriots parted ways earlier this week. It’s unclear what he plans to do next; if he doesn’t like the options presented to him, he might think about retiring or taking a vacation from coaching entirely.

It goes without saying that Belichick, who is regarded as the best head coach in NFL history, will be the focus of several teams over the summer as they try to sign the 71-year-old.

It’s unclear if the Falcons’ quality roster, which includes Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts, will be enough to pique Belichick’s interest.
