Saints looking to make strong impact heading into offseason.

With the New Orleans Saints having missed the playoffs for the third consecutive season, all eyes will be on the players and front office as the offseason progresses.

For more than half of the season, they were in control of their own fate, and going into Week 18, they had a chance to secure both the NFC South title and a postseason spot, but  Tampa Bay victory over the Carolina Panthers and a Packers victory over the Bears (17-9) would prevent the Saints from contending for a divisional title and a wild-card berth.

One thing head coach Dennis Allen said he has to take a closer look at is his aging roster, as he believes that the veteran presence is helpful, but is still looking to add some youth to the table.

”I think we certainly need to still add some young pieces to our roster,” Allen said. “I think there’s a good veteran presence here. I think there’s some veteran players that can still perform at a high level.”

“As you do every year, we’ll look at ways in which we can do that. I think we also need to incorporate some more youth and talent on our team.”

In terms of Allen’s future in New Orleans, he anticipates returning, but heading into the 2024 campaign, adjustments are undoubtedly anticipated.

The 2024 NFL Draft is the Saints’ next big event. With their current 14th pick in the draft, the front office will undoubtedly be the focus of attention leading up to the draft and free agency.
