Rangers transfer news as Fabrizio Romano drops Nottingham Forest defender Jonathan Panzo update.

Rangers may aim to advantage as Fabrizio Romano has released an update on Nottingham Forest centre-back cum left-back Jonathan Panzo on 15 January.

According to the journalist from Sky Sports, he returned to the City Ground following his loan at Cardiff City, and the Premier League team is considering allowing him to depart once more.

Sunday On August 3, Darren Witcoop of the Mirror said that he was about to move to Ibrox for the summer, but that plan fell through.

“Jonathan Panzo has returned to Nottingham Forest from his loan spell at Cardiff City,” Romano tweeted.

“Remember that Panzo will be leaving #NFFC once more in January. Clubs are eager to sign him, and all parties are searching for the best solutions.”

This might be the ideal opportunity for the Gers to resume their pursuit of the 23-year-old English defender with his versatility.

Although Panzo has primarily played center defense for Cardiff this season, if the Gers make a move for him, he is also a left back and will probably play there.

He was keen on joining them in the summer so there should not be any qualms over him wanting a loan move in January.

Given that Borna Barisic’s contract is expiring at the end of the season and Ridvan Yilmaz appears to be heading out, it is imperative that the Gers add to their defensive line.

Due to his versatility, Philippe Clement can also use Panzo as a left-sided center-back in a back three. If the Englishman is playing, he can also move fluidly from a back three to a back four.

However, Rangers will need to move quickly because other teams are likely to be prepared to make a move as well.
