Jordan Love is deserving of all the accolades and media attention that have surrounded him since the

Dallas Cowboys were destroyed on Sunday. Although the young quarterback has been outstanding,

Aaron Jones is the driving force behind the Packers attack.

The running back rushed for 118 yards on 21 runs and three touchdowns in Sunday’s 48-32 rout of

Dallas. Jones had now scored 100 yards rushing in four straight games for Green Bay, which became the

first No. 7 seed to win a postseason game since the league’s 2020 expansion of the playoffs. For Matt

LaFleur’s team, Jones’ play in the closing moments ignited a run when everything could have gone

south.

“Are you all able to see it? Just his ability to plant his foot in the ground and just be explosive, make guys

miss,” LaFleur said of Jones, per the official transcript. “The football player is someone about whom I

have nothing but praise for. What he represents to our group. his ability to lead. He is an uncommon

man. Not many people are like him. Just the way he supports and uplifts his teammates.”

Jones gave them a boost on Sunday with touchdowns. The three scores were more running TDs than the

RB had in the entire 2023 regular season (2). He became the only player in Green Bay history to have

three or more career games with three or more run touchdowns, joining the likes of legendary Packers

Jim Taylor (6) and Paul Hornung (4).

Jones has now scored two touchdowns or more in three consecutive postseason games. The only running

backs in the history of the NFL with more such games are all Hall of Famers: Terrell Davis, John

Riggins, Thurman Thomas, Franco Harris, and Emmitt Smith.

The Packers focused on getting Jones going early, and on the first play of the game, the RB touched the

ball seven times. This led to a tiresome 12-play, 75-yard scoring drive that lasted 7:52 and established the

tone for the game.

Blasting the team he grew up rooting for, in memory of his late father, Alvin Jones Sr., who passed away

in 2021, made it all that sweeter for the Packers’ running back.

“You know, it was a full circle moment,” Jones said. “I feel like this is kind of how we got into football.

This was my dad’s team. This was my team growing up. You always want to be like your father, so that’s

how it became my team. Emmitt Smith was my running back. My first jersey was a 22. I got the chance

to speak to him before the game, so that was special to me as well. My dad did get to see me play here my

rookie year and I know he was in here tonight. Dallas is a special place to me. It was a first circle

moment. It feels like home.”
