Rumors about transfers: Oneyka to Everton, Traore to Napoli, and Henderson to Ajax
Before the transfer season closes,Ajax is alle gedly interested in bringing Al Ettifaq midfielder Jordan Henderson to the Eredivisie.
The 33-year-old, who had won the Premier League and Champions League as captain of English powerhouse Liverpool, made the highly publicized move to the Saudi Pro League in the summer.
Henderson has been a vital member of Steven Gerrard’s team thus far in 2023–24, but the group has had extreme difficulties; they last won in October and are currently 28 points behind league leaders Al-Hilal.
Gareth Southgate has continued to choose the former Sunderland player for England squads this season even though he plays football outside of the European ecosystem.
The Standard reports that Ajax, the Dutch powerhouses, are working hard to get Henderson into the Eredivisie in January in an effort to add important reinforcements for the second half of the season.
It is believed that Henderson would inform manager Gerrard and head of football development Mark Allen of his desire to move on during crucial talks with them on Sunday.
Henderson is especially eager to return to European football, specifically the Premier League, since he fears he may lose his secure place in Southgate’s squad for this summer’s Euro 2024 in Germany.
Remaining in the English top division, it is reported that Napoli has shown interest in Bournemouth’s Hamed Traore, and the two teams are in talks to sign the player.
After a first loan stint at the Vitality Stadium, the offensive midfielder spent £21 million to join from Serie A team Sassuolo in the summer. He has made just three appearances since then.
Serie A winners Napoli are reportedly close to finalizing a temporary transfer for Ivorian Traore, who is having difficulty finding playing time on the South Coast. This information comes from the Daily Mail.
Walter Mazzarri’s team has the option to buy the attacker for £22 million in the summer, but it is expected that the attacker will join the Italian powerhouses on loan for the balance of the season.
Currently, Napoli is leading the battle to recruit the former Empoli player, though AC Milan and Roma have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
Several Premier League teams are reportedly interested in Brentford’s Frank Onyeka, including Everton and Fulham.
Currently serving for Nigeria’s national team at the Africa Cup of Nations, the 26-year-old has only started six league games this season and is reportedly aiming for regular first-team participation.
That is according to The Guardian, who report that Sean Dyche’s Toffees and Fulham are keen on Onyeka, with the latter potentially ready to lose Joao Palhinha in the near future amid interest from Liverpool.
The midfielder, who cost £10 million when he signed with the Bees from Danish team Midtjylland in July 2021, is reportedly valued at £20 million. This month, a loan switch seems more plausible than a permanent sale.
Over a two and a half year period, Onyeka has made 65 appearances for Thomas Frank’s team in all competitions, signing a
