Rangers turned down Galatasaray’s January attempt to sign left-back Ridvan Yilmaz.

The broadcaster announced on its live blog [January 14, 14:36] that the Turkish powerhouses had

proposed a £3.4 million loan-to-buy arrangement at the conclusion of the current campaign.

Yilmaz, who appears certain to depart Ibrox before the end of the month, is reportedly in the lead race,

according to Hellas Verona.

Currently attending a warm-weather training camp in La Manga, Yilmaz even started Saturday, January

13,’s 1-0 loss to Hertha Berlin, thanks to Philippe Clement.

There is no indication that the Belgian defender is going to depart the team anytime soon, despite the

fact that he was sent off in that match and the team was completely altered at halftime.

It appears that Yilmaz will be sold sooner rather than later, as interest in him is increasing daily and

offers are beginning to come in.

Under Clement, the Turkish international has been starting every time, primarily because of Borna

Barisic’s injury.

However, Rangers are rumored to be searching for a new left-back of their own. It would be profitable if

they could recoup part of the millions they paid for the 22-year-old.

As we approach the halfway point of the month, it appears that Rangers may need to sell a few before

launching their own attacks due to the large sums of money spent in the summer.

We may have to wait a little while longer as there have been no significant efforts made in search of a

new left-back as of yet, and Yilmaz is not any closer to departing in light of this rejection.

In the upcoming days, all eyes will be on this one at Ibrox, as a new, better offer might already be in the

works.
