Rangers make approach to sign David Jurasek as rival bidder backs out of deal

Rangers have made an approach to sign Benfica and Czech Republic defender David Jurasek, according to A Bola.

On Saturday, January 13, the journal said on its website that Marseille was interested in the left-back but had chosen to concentrate on Josh Doig, the star player for Hellas Verona.

Jurasek, who has three caps for the Czech Republic, has made 12 appearances for Benfica this season in all competitions.

“Rangers are interested in David Jurasek,” according to A Bola. “The Glasgow team has already communicated with the Czech international over the prospect of signing him.

“Marseille even made Jurasek an offer, but in the interim, Verona negotiated the 21-year-old Scottish Josh Doig.”

What Rangers manager Philippe Clement has planned for the club’s first transfer window is yet unknown.

Michael Beale really upended things at Ibrox before he was fired, and there was a lot of movement at the club in both directions during the most recent transfer window.

Since then, Clement has undoubtedly helped to steady the ship, but for the balance of the season, the manager might simply wish to bolster with one or two new players.

Additionally, the status of Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz at left back has recently taken centre stage in the news.

However, Jurasek of Benfica may be difficult to get to Ibrox this month, as the defender only recently joined the Portuguese powerhouses from Slavia Prague.

Nonetheless, the full-back, who is only 23 years old, has a ton of big-game experience, so Rangers and their supporters would be quite excited if they signed him.
