Some 2024 free agents that the Bengals might be interested in are playing in the Cowboys vs. Packers

playoff game.

The Cincinnati Bengals are officially in evaluation mode as a result of missing the NFL Playoffs. This

includes assessing both internal free agents and upcoming free agents for other clubs.

It’s a terrific opportunity to witness athletes take on elite competition during playoff games, which some

Bengals players may be attending.

Here are some upcoming free agents to keep an eye on when the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers

play.

Cowboys overtime Tyrone Smith

Knowing the team, the Bengals wouldn’t want to enter the draft with a significant deficit at a position

where they might lose one of their starting offensive tackles to free agency this year. Tyron Smith of

Dallas is undoubtedly among the best choices available as a stopgap defenseman.

Throughout his career, Smith has mostly played left tackle, but he has also filled in at right tackle when

needed and could certainly do so if he were to sign as a free agent. Even though he has struggled with

injuries, at 33, his play has generally still been excellent.

Chuma Edoga, Cowboys OT

Although Edoga has played all over the line in his Dallas career, I classified him at OT. playing LG as a

backup lineman in addition to offensive tackle. He would be signed to play that position in Cincinnati,

coming off the bench as the sixth man in the event of an injury.

The squad enjoyed a fantastic run of health for the OL in 2023, but that is probably not permanent, so

adding depth to the OL would be fantastic. In the event that a more expensive solution is not found, he

might also be a contender to assume right tackle duties.

Edoga might not play in the playoff game at all because he is the primary backup offensive lineman for

the Cowboys, but it is highly likely given how much playing time he has already received this season.

Darnell Savage of the Packers

Savage, a former first-round selection who had a highly promising beginning to his career, has

underperformed during the past two years. He’s a versatile player who can play both in the box and as a

single high free safety; the Bengals might benefit greatly from this kind of reclamation project.

The cap shouldn’t increase significantly by adding Savage and removing Nick Scott because Savage has

significantly more coverage upside and versatility. Lou Anarumo, who enjoys being creative with his

safeties, will be able to do so much more now that he can play single high.
