Aston Villa boss issues Jacob Ramsey injury update after Everton stalemate

Birmingham’s Aston Villa newsAs Unai Emery struggles, live Jacob Ramsey injury update as midfielder misses draw against Everton. Jacob Ramsey missed Aston Villa’s Premier League match against Everton because of a hamstring injury, according to Unai Emery.

Before their journey to Goodison Park on Saturday, the 22-year-old midfield player experienced a hamstring ache at the conclusion of their training session at Bodymoor Heath. In Emery’s 97th Premier League game as a manager, Villa drew 0-0, marking his first goalless draw in the league.

Jhon Duran and Matty Cash had chances late on to win the match after Alex Moreno saw a goal ruled out by VAR in the first half. Everton created few chances, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin had the best opportunity of the game but was foiled by Emi Martinez in a one-on-one.

“At the end of the session he was not feeling very good with some pain in his hamstring,” Emery responded when asked about Ramsey’s injury. With him, we didn’t take a chance. We shall find out whether or not he is injured after he takes a test either today or tomorrow. If he gets injured, perhaps it won’t be serious.

Ramsey has been sidelined for the opening five games of the season by Villa in all competitions due to a recurrence of the foot ailment he sustained in the summer. Pau Torres was also absent from the match, although Youri Tielemans, who had a calf injury last month, was back in action.
