Everton set for Arnaut Danjuma transfer talks as crunch decision looms for Sean Dyche

Transfer talks involving Arnaut Danjuma and Everton are scheduled as Sean Dyche faces a deadline.

Lyon is showing interest in Everton loanee Arnaut Danjuma, who has only started four Premier League games this year.

This month, Arnaut Danjuma intends to quit Everton if the team is unable to guarantee regular minutes.

The Dutch winger has only started four Premier League games this season after joining on a season-long loan

from Villarreal last summer. With two goals in 17 appearances across all competitions, he has also been left off the field eight times in the top division.

Lyon is now attempting to sign Danjuma, but any agreement between Everton and Villarreal to end the 26-year-old’s loan early is also required.

So far, Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison have been favoured on flanks this term but McNeil was recently

stretchered off in the FA Cup stalemate at Crystal Palace after suffering a blow to the ankle.

Although Everton has not officially stated if the injury is significant, McNeil’s health could have an impact on

Danjuma’s future. According to French reports, Danjuma and Lyon have already agreed on personal conditions.

The Holland international is preparing himself in case he receives permission to depart from Everton during this window.

The former Bournemouth player, who also spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Tottenham, is

someone Lyon would like to sign on a temporary basis but is willing to incorporate a permanent transfer clause for less than £13 million (€15 million).

The French behemoths, who have yet to come to a principled agreement with Villarreal, are yet to win a game in

Ligue 1. Their single victory of the season came in November. When asked in December if Danjuma’s loan could

be terminated early, Everton manager Dyche declined to give a firm response. “We’ll see about all that,” he

stated. We’re not carrying a very heavy squad, as you know.”

Although it’s believed that the Toffees intend to keep Danjuma on staff, the attacker’s current offer of regular

football elsewhere complicates matters.
