Sources: Rangers in talks today to sign ex-Chelsea star Michy Batshuayi.

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Rangers are negotiating a stunning deal to sign Michy Batshuayi, the former striker for Chelsea.

More discussions are anticipated to take place today (10 January), as it is reported that Ibrox manager Philippe Clement has personally talked with the Belgian international to discuss his ambitions for the forward.

Batshuayi, 30, has been granted permission to depart from Fenerbahce, the Turkish powerhouse, following their inability to reach a new agreement.Rangers and other teams may now make a move because of his contract expiration in the summer.

Batshuayi has an outstanding track record at several of Europe’s top teams, including Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, and Marseille.

Throughout his two loan stints at Palace and his permanent position at Chelsea, he participated in 77 Premier League games, contributing five assists and 15 goals.

But his greatest success came in Marseille, where he scored 33 goals in 78 games, and Dortmund, where he scored nine goals in 14 games.

With 27 goals in 53 international games, the striker has an outstanding record with Belgium.

In just 21 appearances in all competitions for Fenerbahce, he has also scored eight goals and provided three assists, despite only making one start in the Super Lig.

Following the historic loan signing of Fabio Silva, Rangers are seeking to add another forward during the January transfer window, as reported by Football Insider on January 5.

After defeating Kilmarnock 3-1 on January 2 prior to the winter break, Rangers are now second in the league table. They will next play Dumbarton in the Scottish Cup.

Also, according to sources, Rangers are vying to sign the 25-year-old Brighton star.
