Rangers transfer twist as Marseille make £4.3m bid for Josh Doig.
Ligue 1 powerhouse Marseille presents new opposition for Rangers in their pursuit of Josh Doig, as reported by Alfredo Pedulla via Football Scotland.
On January 9, the Italian journalist for Sport Italia posted on his own website that Marseille, under the direction of former Rangers midfielder Gennaro Gattuso, had placed a bid of £4.3 million for the Hellas Verona full-back.
The Serie A team has requested a “slightly higher fixed base,” he continued, adding Marseille’s interest might result in a marginally larger offer.
According to Football Scotland (January 10), even if Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz go this month, Rangers will probably be unable to afford to get Doig.
Doig, who is a sought-after man this month, is also mentioned as maybe finding a partner in Torino and Udinese.
