Rangers: Agreement reached in ‘last few hours’ for player to leave Ibrox – Could be official today.
Even though Sam Lammers only joined Philippe Clement’s team this summer, he may be heading out of Ibrox this month.
Algemeen Dagblad revealed on Tuesday that FC Utrecht has the 26-year-old in their sights. De Telegraaf reported later that day that the
Dutch team is working hard to get him away from Rangers. The Rangers player is reportedly “close” to signing a loan with Utrecht, according to
TuttoMercatoWeb, suggesting that this operation is making progress.
It’s claimed an agreement was reached between the parties in the ‘last few hours’, for the forward to move on a temporary deal until the end of this
season. TMW further add there should be an official announcement on Wednesday.
Michael Beale was in charge at Ibrox when Rangers signed the former PSV Eindhoven man and he featured regularly under his orders.
Beale’s appointment to Rangers as Philippe Clement’s replacement didn’t go well for the Dutchman in the following weeks.
His regular appearances could be enhanced with a loan move to Utrecht.
“Age is still on his side, but he will turn 27 on April 30th,” TMW writes as they wrap up their report. It might be his final train of employment.
Lammers has contributed two goals and two assists to Philippe Clement’s team’s total of 31 games played this season.
