Rangers links set to go cold as Premier League club strike deal with Ibrox target

Rangers set for transfer disappointment as ambitious Premier League outfit pounce

Supposed Rangers objective Will Dennis, who had an outstanding season with Kilmarnock, has agreed to a new contract with Premier League Bournemouth.

With the signing of a two-year contract extension, the 23-year-old goalie will remain with the team through the summer of 2026.

This might have significant effects on any attempt by Rangers to sign Will Dennis, who was previously connected to a transfer to Ibrox with Celtic, an Old Firm opponent.

The goalkeeper had been entering the final six months of his contract at the Vitality but now Bournemouth have moved to strengthen their position with the stopper.

Will Dennis signs Bournemouth contract

Dennis, who has kept 11 clean sheets in 28 appearances for Kilmarnock this season, is a key member of the Ayrshire club’s push for a European berth.

The majority of his career has been spent on loan at non-league teams, but this season has been an amazing improvement, and Neill Blake, the CEO of Bournemouth, is happy to get a transaction completed.

Blake expressed his satisfaction, saying, “We’re happy that Will has committed his future to the club, having made huge progress on his current loan spell.”

“Will is gaining excellent experience at Kilmarnock, playing regularly and competing for a European qualification spot, and he’s a talented young player who adds strength to our goalkeeping department.”

Rangers strong in goalkeeper department

Rangers are somewhat blessed in the goalkeeper position with summer signing Jack Butland proving a revelation between the sticks at Ibrox this season.

The former England international has been one of the stand-out signings of the season and Rangers are in a position of strength with the keeper having tied him down on a four-year deal.

Robby McCrorie, a Scotland international prospect, is also a member of Rangers’ squad; at the moment, the Ibrox Academy alum is pushing Butland very hard.

The young player will receive his opportunity at Ibrox at some point this season, according to Philippe Clement’s admission.

Will Dennis would therefore have fierce competition at Rangers, and those connections abruptly become less strong when you take into account the terms of Bournemouth’s new deal.
