Ross Wilson could be central to Rangers transfer window despite leaving club 9 months ago
Rangers supporters may find happiness in the hands of Ross Wilson, a former Ibrox director, as they reload their screens in anticipation of transfer news.
Although the Rangers’ summer signing class will undoubtedly continue to be debated behind closed doors, there are currently a number of names associated with the team.
There have been eleven players linked thus far, however two of them have Premier League contracts with Nottingham Forest.
In April of last year, Ross Wilson moved from Rangers to the City Ground, and he is currently an important player in the Premier League team’s moves.
Rangers linked to Nottingham Forest pair
That means that when it comes Forest duo Scott McKenna and Emmanuel Dennis, the former Rangers Sporting Director could hold the transfer keys.
Scott McKenna was linked with a move to Ibrox alongside Old Firm rivals Celtic last week.
The Scotland international centre-back, 27, is out of contract at the end of the season and out of sorts at the City Ground.
A loan with a contract option seems like a constructive move – even if the defender is a Celtic supporter – and we’ll see how this progresses.
Additionally, Emmanuel Dennis, who is now on loan at Turkish team Çaykur Rizespor, has been linked to Rangers.
Following a challenging start to the season in Turkey, it appears that the forward may soon make his way back to Nottingham Forest via the transfer window.
While some Belgian sources have indicated that an agreement is imminent, others have stated it is still a long way off.
Having collaborated with Philippe Clement at Club Brugge, Dennis, the second Nottingham Forest player connected to Rangers, is a player to keep an eye on.
Ross Wilson could have final transfer say
Rangers will have a solid relationship with Ross Wilson even if the Nottingham Forest director moved on in acrimonious circumstances.
With fan protests over the ex-Falkirk and Southampton recruitment man’s transfer record, Wilson jumped ship back to the Premier League.
Since then, Rangers have altered the Ibrox recruiting setup, with Nils Koppen serving as the club’s Director of recruiting on the recently formed Ibrox side recruitment board.
The former PSV scout may now have to collaborate with the person he succeeded in Glasgow to finalize two transfers for Rangers.
Although Ross Wilson is now undoubtedly a Nottingham Forest employee, we believe his connections to Rangers will undoubtedly facilitate any negotiations.
