Saints expected to keep Dennis Allen for 2024 NFL season

Saints expected to keep Dennis Allen for 2024 NFL season.

Pro Football Talk reports that while many coaches are expected to be dismissed on Monday, Dennis Allen, the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, is not anticipated to be among them before Sunday’s regular-season finale.

With the Saints coming into the game 8-8 and still having a chance to make the postseason, Allen has one more game as a head coach this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Notwithstanding the result of Sunday’s contest, Allen might lead the Saints back when quarterback Derek Carr is in the center.

New Orleans began Sunday outside the playoff picture, despite having the same record as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who look poised to win the NFC South due to a tiebreaker over the Saints.

But a New Orleans win over the Falcons, coupled with a loss by the Buccaneers to the Carolina Panthers, would guarantee the Saints a spot in the NFL playoffs.

The 51-year-old Allen is in his second season leading New Orleans’ football team.

In his debut season, the Saints finished 7–10.

In addition, he spent slightly over two seasons as the Oakland Raiders’ head coach from 2012 to 2014.

March-born Carr, 33, is in his debut season with the Saints following an uneventful conclusion to his nine-year Raiders career the previous season.
