The Saints are about to embark on an important offseason. With quarterback Derek Carr and head coach Dennis Allen probably returning, they will need to find out how to manage their club in 2024. The Saints are projected to lose more over $72 million in 2024, according to Over The Cap.

According to Jeremy Fowler with ESPN, quarterback Jameis Winston agreed to a contract restructure. The new deal adds two years to his contract with the Saints. Winston is set to become a free agent regardless of the restructure.

That was a generous gesture from Wintson before the Saints part ways with him officially in a few months.

Before the 2024 season, the Saints have a lot more work ahead of them. In addition to adding help for Carr in the upcoming season, they must clear their cap space.

It’s well known that the Saints can work magic with the salary cap. However, since the 2020 season, those front office-driven mathematical feats have failed to produce a playoff squad.
