Major shakeup could come to Dallas Cowboys, depending on one important factor

The Dallas Cowboys are under intense pressure to win another NFL championship, despite the fact that they haven’t won a

Super Bowl since 1995. But maybe that’s why Jerry Jones is so desperate to win at the highest level once more—their decades-long drought.

Since Barry Switzer and Troy Aikman raised the Super Bowl trophy in January 1996, Jones has had multiple head coaches and

quarterbacks, but he has never even managed to return the Cowboys to the NFC Championship.

Yet, what happened in the past does not matter because the Cowboys are back on top in a sense, competing for one of the top

seeds in the NFC with Mike McCarthy leading the way. So far, McCarthy has performed admirably in his four seasons leading

the team, with a win-loss record of 41-25. Yet, he has just a 1-2 record in the playoffs.

McCarthy’s win percentage of.619 places him eighth among active head coaches in NFL history. The regular season victories are

fantastic and will continue to open doors for him as a head coach, but McCarthy and the rest of the team are truly hoping for another Super Bowl ring.

Prior to 2023, McCarthy has assisted the Cowboys in winning 12 games in each of the previous two seasons. He’ll try to make

that run three seasons when the Commanders and Cowboys play on Sunday. Following that? McCarthy may be doing coaching to keep his job.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, members of the Cowboys organization are getting the sense that McCarthy will be judged

on how Dallas performs in the playoffs, no matter who they’re matched up against.

This isn’t a new concept, especially for the Cowboys, who moved on from Jason Garrett after he failed to get past the Divisional

Round in nine seasons as head coach.

Dan Quinn, the defensive coordinator, is another potential influence. He has contributed to the Cowboys’ three straight seasons

of top-10 defense, and he may be a well-liked contender for head coach in the next hiring cycle.

Is Jerry Jones going to let Quinn to go? You never know what might happen in JerryWorld if McCarthy’s offense and team don’t improve in the postseason.
