Aston Villa in transfer tussle to sign Crysencio Summerville
According to reports, Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion will battle it out for Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville, who is 22 years old.
Aston Villa is reportedly interested in Crysencio Summerville, according to a Football Insider report. The 22-year-old winger is a long-term objective for the Villans. However, it is unlikely that he would go during the January transfer window because Leeds United is unwilling to consider any bids to sell him.
Who is Crysencio Summerville?
Crysencio Summerville is a native of Rotterdam and spent his formative years in his homeland. The Dutch attacker rose through the ranks at Feyenoord but could not establish a foothold in the first-team squad at the club. Instead, he rose in prominence after joining Leeds United in September 2020.
It took the 22-year-old a full year to make his debut for Elland Road’s first team. But in the following 12 months, he has not looked back, becoming as a key player for Leeds United. In particular, Summerville is having a fantastic 2023–24 campaign, having made 24 appearances and contributing 18 goals so far.
Along with six assists, the youthful winger has 12 goals and six points. Summerville’s development at Leeds United has drawn the interest of other Premier League teams. He was a top target for both Crystal Palace and Newcastle United to sign during the summer transfer window. Aston Villa is now reportedly interested in him.

Aston Villa can do with an offensive reinforcement as they look to rise in stature in the English football pyramid. The Villans depend on Ollie Watkins to deliver the goods in the final third, with no other attacker being prolific enough to take the burden off him. So, it is hardly surprising that Aston Villa might look to bolster the attacking unit this year.
According to recent sources, the Midlands group is associated with Cyril Ngonge. However, taking into account his English football expertise, Crysencio Summerville is also a good target. A January transfer seems improbable, though, since Leeds United is unwilling to consider any offers for the 22-year-old Dutch winger.
In addition to Aston Villa, Summerville is also being pursued by Brighton & Hove Albion. Leeds is keen to keep the Dutchman in order to return to the Premier League, therefore a move for him will have to wait until the summer transfer window.
