Dallas Cowboys Legend Encourages Team To Sign Former FSU Football Star.
Do the Dallas Cowboys want to enter the running back lottery to win the All-Pro position?
Following his release by the New York Jets, former Florida State running back Dalvin Cook is being called up by retired Dallas
Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant to join “America’s Team.”
As the NFL approaches Week 18, the Miami native now has the chance to play for a playoff team.
The three-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro Bryant stated that acquiring Cook’makes too much sense!
“Cowboys gotta grab Dalvin Cook! It makes too much sense!” proclaimed the former Cowboys receiver.
Cook averaged 4.7 yards a carry during his six years with the Minnesota Vikings before heading to the Jets on a one-year deal before the start of the 2023 season.
Of the five potential landing spots listed per CBS Sports (Dallas, Miami, Cleveland, San Francisco, Baltimore), Dallas ranks last in team rushing yards a game (14th in the league overall).
However, despite a bit of a slide during his short-lived tenure with the Jets (3.2 yards a carry), a team like the Cowboys would be getting a veteran running back just one year removed from four straight 1,000-yard seasons.
Tony Pollard, the starter running back for the Cowboys, and Cook, a recent signing, may be a formidable duo that halves the
workload if they get to the postseason together. By Week 18, Pollard had already surpassed his season-high rush attempts by almost forty.
But at one point during the summer, the Miami Dolphins were the overwhelming favorite to sign Dalvin Cook, a native of
Miami. In addition, Raheem Mostert, the Dolphins’ primary running back, missed their crushing loss to the Baltimore Ravens due to ankle and knee issues.
