The Hall of Fame finalist is out
For the second year in a row, Darren Woodson has been chosen as a finalist, putting him right on the cusp of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Woodson was denied the opportunity to win the Gold Jacket in his first season as a finalist last year when he did not qualify for the class of 2023. But he’s back, and perhaps this year Woodson—the all-time leader in tackles for the Cowboys—will earn the elusive induction into the Hall of Fame.
Woodson is one of the fifteen contemporary finalists that will make the trip to Las Vegas, the site of Super Bowl LVIII. The 2024 class will be unveiled on February 8 at the NFL Honors celebration.
Woodson played for the Cowboys from 1992 to 2003. During that time, he was named to five Pro Bowls, four All-Pro teams, and three Super Bowls. In the history of the team, he is the only player to have served as head coach under five different names: Bill Parcells, Dave Campo, Chan Gailey, Barry Switzer, and Jimmy Johnson.
