NFL Exec Calls Out “Imploding” Dallas Cowboys: “Front-Running Bunch”

After falling to the AFC East-leading Dolphins 22–20, the Dallas Cowboys continue to be in excellent form as the NFL Regular Season nears its conclusion. They currently have a 10-5 record and have already secured an NFC playoff berth.

But following the close loss to the Dolphins, an NFL executive claims the club is collapsing, calling them a “front-running bunch.”

This according to a report in The Athletic by Mike Sando.

Opponents have long considered the Cowboys to be front-runners, which could play into the issues away from home. Dallas has covered the point spread nine times, including seven times at home. The Cowboys failed to cover the spread six times, with five of those on the road.

According to an executive with NFC East expertise, “I think their identity is what it is.” “A front-running group that rides their momentum when things get hot and I think there’s an implosion there when they have to go blow for blow.”

Many of you definitely want this to be true because the Dallas Cowboys are arguably the most loathed team in the NFL. Perhaps it is accurate. This year, Dallas has won a lot of games by a wide margin, but they have struggled in close games especially while trailing early.

After the San Francisco 49ers, they have the second-best point differential in the NFL with +165. However, they are completely awful when trailing early in a game, and this year, San Francisco and Buffalo have dominated them in those situations. Additionally, early in the season, the Cowboys were unable to overcome a disadvantage to the lowly Cardinals.

The fact that they are unbeaten at home but only 3-5 away from home is as concerning. This further suggests that for the team to perform properly, they must feel at ease. As of right now, it appears that the Eagles will win the NFC East, so they will probably have to travel in the Wild Card Round. Might the Cowboys be eliminated early in the playoffs once more?

If they are, I’m sure many of you will be thrilled.
