Dennis Allen Identifies 1 Important Factor In Saints Loss To Rams
There was a lot riding on the New Orleans Saints’ shoulders going into Thursday Night Football.
They might have advanced in the divisional race with a win, which would have greatly increased their chances of making the playoffs.
This team seemed to be particularly hurt by this unfortunate loss.
Reporter Matthew Paras shared the Saints head coach Dennis Allen’s postgame press conference, wherein he discussed the team’s performance.
Allen sounded dissatisfied with the team’s performance throughout this talk.
“We wanted to be aggressive going into the game,” he stated. The game couldn’t be won by field goals.
The Saints’ early deficit in the first half did little to improve their prospects.
At the half, they trailed 17–7, and in the third quarter, the Rams‘ lead grew to 20 points, rapidly widening their deficit.
Even though they managed to rally for a final score of 30–22, the Saints never appeared to be in charge of the game.
Allen’s intention to start the game aggressively appeared to be derailed as the Rams outplayed them right away.
After watching the tape and analyzing what went wrong with their strategy, the Saints will get a lot of insight from this game.
They may have wanted to be aggressive, but the Rams clearly desired it more right away.
Additionally, near the end of the first half, Derek Carr threw an untimely interception that allowed the Rams to score a last-second field goal.
On the football field, it’s critical to minimize errors, and this one might have set off the Rams’ onslaught of points.
