Saints HC Dennis Allen Describes How Their Offense Can Be “More Balanced”
The Tampa Bay Bucs now have the perfect chance to take the lead in the NFC South division rankings, while the New Orleans
Saints may be watching their prospects of securing a postseason spot fade after falling to the Los Angeles Rams on the road at
SoFi Stadium on Thursday night.
Even if the Saints’ loss to the Rams yesterday was only eight points, the club still appears uneasy offensively when up against a
strong opponent, like Los Angeles has been for the past month or two.
The problem is there are no personnel issues in New Orleans, with the team having the talent to put points on the board on a
weekly basis regardless of their opponent, but they still seem to come up short.
According to John Hendrix of Sports Illustrated, head coach Dennis Allen openly addressed the team’s deficiencies in the run
game while attempting to explain how the Saints’ offense may be “more balanced” going ahead.
The Saints have a lot of skill in that area, so their run game should be clicking with players like Alvin Kamara,
Jamaal Williams, and occasionally Taysom Hill.
The fact that Kamara missed the first four games of the season didn’t help either, but by this stage in the regular season,
the recurring Pro Bowler ought to be playing at a high level and be up to speed.
Kamara has caught 73 catches for 462 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games in addition to running for
649 yards touchdown.
