Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Called Out for Excuse on Loss to Bills: ‘Don’t Do That’

In Week 15, the Buffalo Bills (8-6) humiliated the Dallas Cowboys (10-4) at Highmark Stadium.

Running back James Cook ran 25 times for a career-high 179 yards and a touchdown during Buffalo’s 31-10 victory. He also caught two passes for 42 yards and a score. Dak Prescott of the Cowboys was limited to just 134 passing yards and zero touchdowns by a severely injured Bills defense.

Dallas led the league in both points per game (40.2) and yards per game (437.4) coming into Orchard Park. Prior to Christian Benford of the Bills intercepting Prescott, the quarterback had not thrown an interception in four straight games.

During an appearance on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday, December 19, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones discussed what went wrong in Buffalo. “We didn’t finish. Period,” Jones said, per The Buffalo News. However, his attempt to explain why Dallas struggles on the road (they are 7-0 at home), was panned by his own fan base.

“Weather, for instance,” Jones said. “When it’s wet and when it’s dry. You say the other team has to play when it’s wet, too. Yeah, they do, but I’m just giving you a difference. We have perfect conditions at home. We have the elements when we’re on the road… and it’s a tough time of year weather-wise.”

Boys Blogging Together shared the following on X, the former Twitter: “Don’t do this. Simply concede the defeat. Even 105.3 Shan Shariff, host of The Fan, remarked, “But the first half was obvious.”

“Good teams shouldn’t have this problem, hopefully we don’t encounter it again this season,” retorted a Cowboys supporter. He was somewhat correct, according to a different commenter. I witnessed the game, and although it was unpleasant, both teams had to overcome that. No justification

Bills QB Josh Allen Mentioned the Cowboys’ Inability to Perform Outside of the Dome

Not only did the Bills defeat one of the hottest teams in the league, but they won without the heroics of quarterback Josh Allen. While Allen typically needs to go full Superman to defeat a Super Bowl contender, the Bills as a team stepped up.

Allen completed just seven passes for 94 yards and a touchdown, along with a rushing score. With a 28-point lead, Bills head coach Sean McDermott let backup quarterback Kyle Allen finish out the game with over 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Speaking to reporters after the game, “I felt like the kid who didn’t do anything in the class project but got an A,” Allen said. But if it means the team wins, “I’ll do this 10 times out of 10 times.”

Regarding why the Bills’ run game against the Cowboys was so effective, Allen responded, “I think just, again, we understand what position we’re in right now, and we got to win games.” How we complete them is irrelevant. Occasionally, a squad such as that is accustomed to playing in a dome.

They toss the ball around a lot, and I believe teams attempt to throw a lot at their defense. I’m not sure if anyone has tackled the run with as much vigor as we did this evening. And once more, we simply relied on our front-line players and our backs to produce plays, which they did.

Jerry Jones Mentioned the ‘Technical Edge’ Bills Mafia Gave the Home Team

Allen gave Bills Mafia a clear message going into Week 15. It’s December here. It won’t be the hottest day/night combination. We need a home ground and a home crowd to neutralize an opposing offense, Allen said reporters.

“Bills Mafia must be vocal, appear in large numbers, and be prepared to support us. They are vital to us, especially for this game. any false start or game delay. even merely the activity’s vigor and flow. We are dependent on Bill’s Mafia. Our strategy to assault and win this game will heavily rely on playing to the fans.

The message was received. Jones said during his radio appearance that the home crowd at Highmark Stadium gave the Bills a “technical edge.” While that can explain penalties, it doesn’t explain the defense’s 12 missed tackles.

Jones said, “The fundamental observation was that each of you simply did not complete the play, the series, or the game.” “You lay an egg when that happens to you, and we did.” The Bills are concentrated on their upcoming game, while the Cowboys are trying to “specifically address what beat us in Buffalo for next Sunday.”

On Saturday, December 23, the Bills (8-6) take on the Los Angeles Chargers (5-9) in Week 16. According to The New York Times playoff simulator, Buffalo, who is now in ninth position in the AFC, has a 76% chance of making the postseason with a victory versus the Chargers. They have a 36% chance of losing.
