Michael Beale instantly reacts as Rangers beat Aberdeen in Viaplay Cup final

Following Rangers’ 1-0 victory over Aberdeen in the Viaplay Cup final at Hampden Park, Michael Beale responded right away.

On Sunday, December 17, right-back James Tavernier scored the game’s lone goal to give the Gers the victory.

Tavernier scored the game-winning goal in the 76th minute to give Philippe Clement his first trophy at the club.

Beale, a former manager of the Rangers who was fired earlier this season, was among many responding to the success on social media.

Huge Win

It is simply a massive moment for Clement and the Gers, who were made to work hard for the trophy by Barry Robson’s outfit.

The Dons were not exactly thrilling in the final third, with Rangers number one Jack Butland not having much work to do at Hampden.

But they did make it hard for Rangers going forward, with the match won by a moment of brilliance from Rangers captain Tavernier.

He got on the receiving end of Borna Barisic cross with just under 15 minutes left, before slotting the ball acrobatically past Aberdeen’s Kelle Roos and into the back of the net.

The Rangers supporters inside the stadium were overjoyed, as was Clement on the touchline, who was aware that this was more than likely going to be the winning goal.

It has been a superb few days for the club, with the players now able to enjoy their celebrations having also overcome Real Betis in Europe on Thursday (14 December).
