Jerry Jones Makes Clear Statement On Future Cowboys Contract Extensions

With one of the most talented teams in the NFL right now, Jerry Jones, the team’s longstanding owner, has high hopes for the Dallas Cowboys’ future for the next five to seven years.

With quarterback Dak Prescott and linebacker Micah Parsons spearheading the offense and defense,

respectively, America’s Team is loaded on both sides of the ball.

Together with other stars on the club like wide receiver CeeDee Lamb,

these two players will want to be paid what they are worth, even if it is predicted that they will lead this legendary franchise for many years to come.

According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, although the Cowboys and Jones are in a strong position, there is only so much money in Dallas, which can lead to some issues later on, as the longstanding owner acknowledges.

Jones freely admits that the squad will need to “fit a square peg in a round hole when the time comes,” indicating that he is more concerned with the situation as it stands right now than with years down the road. It will be interesting to watch how Jones and company want to care for all of these elite players in the future.

Though Jones should definitely be doing that, if the team isn’t winning titles or even coming close, things might get awkward and these guys, particularly Prescott, come knocking with their offers.

Dallas is now in a strong position and has a good chance of winning the championship this season, but only time will tell how things turn out for the squad.
