BBC pundit makes exciting Aston Villa transfer prediction if Champions League qualification is secured
After winning their last two games against Manchester City and Arsenal, the Villans set a club record by winning 15 straight home league games. With 16 games played, they are currently ranked third.
They have finished as winners three of the last four times they have scored 35 points or more at this point in a top-flight campaign, while the other two times they have finished second
Even while some Villa supporters are secretly hoping for their team’s first championship in more than 40 years, just making it into the Champions League would be a tremendous accomplishment.
Villa already has a number of elite players, largely because of manager Unai Emery’s influence, but Hutton thinks that number will only increase if they make it to UEFA’s premier club competition.
Regarding what he has witnessed thus far this season, Hutton told Villa News, “It’s absolutely amazing.” The experience I’ve had since joining the club [in 2011] has been nothing short of crazy.
Reaching a cup final, being demoted, failing to rise again, being promoted, entering Europe—the complete gamut. Simply said, they’ve changed because the right people in the right positions were able to make the correct choices.
“Now, the question is whether they can qualify for the Champions League. The fans would leave if they did.
Then, as a Champions League squad, you can draw in players of a higher caliber.
It will be quite interesting to watch how things develop from here on out because that presents them with several opportunities and they have the financial means to support it.
