‘My Ankle is Gone!’ Tyreek Healthy For Cowboys Clash?
In addition to losing heartbreakingly on Monday night to the Tennessee Titans after blowing a late lead, the Miami Dolphins’ finest player sustained an injury during the game.
Tyreek Hill, the NFL’s top receiver with 1,542 yards and 12 touchdowns in the air, appeared to have injured his ankle during the first quarter of Monday’s game.
Even though he came back in the second half, he wasn’t playing at his best and ended up with one of his worst games of the year, catching four passes for 61 yards.
A crucial text from his wife convinced Hill to continue in the game, even though he was in excruciating pain.
“When it happened, like my first reaction was like, ‘Man, my ankle is gone!” Hill said. “My adrenaline kicked in, I ran off the
field, then I sat for a while and it got stiff and I was going through a lot of pain. Then I just made up in my mind, I came in at halftime
“I said to my wife over text, ‘This (bleep) hurt.'” She says, ‘You’d best get your (butt) back in that game, dawg.’ I need an ankle massage tonight. I said, “That’s okay.
” Hill was back in the game, but it is unclear if he will play against the New York Jets on Sunday. More importantly, the Dolphins play the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Eve in a crucial game, and Hill’s injury might have a big effect on the outcome.
Going up against a much superior Dallas defence won’t make Miami’s offence any better if it failed against a mediocre Tennessee defence without a healthy Hill.
Hill is determined to play on Sunday, Christmas Eve, and beyond, no matter how serious his ailment is.
“That’s never something that I would be thinking about,” Hill stated. “However, if the trainers approach me and point out something in the scans, I comply. They tell me, ‘Hey, ‘Reek, you can sit out.
‘” But I don’t want to miss out because I’m me. It’s simply who I am to want to be able to support this team in any manner that
I can. All I want is to not miss any games.” And in light of that?Reek most likely won’t miss the Cowboys’ visit.
