John McGinn Disclosed what Unai Emery told him before Aston Villa beat Arsenal
Before the game, Unai Emery spoke with John McGinn, and on Saturday, the Aston Villa star scored the game-winning goal against Arsenal.
Speaking to Sky Sports (broadcast on 9/12; 19:42), McGinn detailed how his first-half goal at Villa Park proved to be the difference, giving the Villans further evidence to be regarded as Premier League title candidates.
John McGinn performed admirably on Saturday. The question of how Villa would perform following their midweek victory over Manchester City was very intriguing.

Villa occasionally rode their luck. Crucially, though, McGinn was able to take his shot and Arsenal was unable to score with any of theirs.
It appears that Unai Emery was hopeful that the Scotland international would make a difference against the team leading the league heading into the weekend.
Emery wanted to see him on the scoreboard for this game, according to McGinn.
It has great significance. I owed the manager a goal, the manager told me before the game,” he claimed to Sky Sports.
In fact, I had the exact same opportunity during a Europa Conference League match. Leon chopped it exactly the same way, and I attempted to land on my right foot.
“We’ve got a lot of staff behind the scenes who analyse that stuff and say if that happens again turn on your right and shoot with your left. Just in that split second I managed to do that
“I didn’t get the cleanest of strikes but it managed to go in the corner and I’m just delighted.”
Villans proved a real point with victory over potential title rivals
One of the better teams in the category is Villa. With four victories and a tie in their last five games, only Liverpool has equalled their total points.
After defeating the champions earlier in the week, Villa’s performance may have been expected to be below average by Arsenal supporters. It’s also evident that some Gunners fans believe they should have been given a penalty and had a goal disallowed.
However, Villa managed to overcome the obstacle and earn a significant victory in their campaign, just like Arsenal has done so frequently this year.
Once more, McGinn turned out to be their saviour.
