As a new information regarding 777 Partners’ takeover surfaced, Everton supporters were anxious to drive Farhad Moshiri out.
Everton fans face an anxious wait until they’re finally able to show Farhad Moshiri the exit door at Goodison Park after a fresh takeover update emerged.
According to BBC Sport journalist Shamoon Hafez (4 December), there is unlikely to be any news
regarding 777 Partners’ takeover this week – the initial timeframe for the expected takeover at Goodison.
Hafez shared that the initial 12-week timeline given when 777 agreed to purchase Moshiri’s 94.1 per cent
majority take in the club will pass after this week, with still no news on whether it will be approved.
The FA and the Premier League are still undergoing checks regarding 777 Partners as the latter will have the final say over any new developments.
Hafez wrote on his personal X account on Monday afternoon (4 December): “Into week 12 since Moshiri
agreed to sell his majority stake in Everton to 777 Partners, the timeframe given for completion.
Unlikely to be any news this week as checks remain ongoing.
Key point is that the Premier League have the final say following their owners’ and directors’ test.”
Having already dragged past the original timeline set for the completion of the takeover, there is still no
clarity as to when, or even if the deal will be completed, or when the decision from the Premier League will be heard by 777 and Everton.
Fans are desperate to see the back of Moshiri and any association he has with the football club and the recent
points deduction is a huge indicator of how flawed he’s been as majority shareholder.
The Everton majority shareholder has been never too far from controversy, especially over the past year
or so, with his recent handling of the recent boardroom saga, the issue involving the Russian oligarch
Alisher Usmanov and several others including the club’s worrying financial state behind the scenes which has certainly landed him in
plenty of hot water on several occasions amongst the whole football club.
Under his disastrous ownership, Everton have been associated with dysfunction, turmoil and controversy for so long which has caused the
majority of the Toffees support to voice their criticism and raging concerns, and understandably so.
The whole club fanbase wants to see changes, and it looks as if the new potential owners want to also, and for that to happen, Moshiri should
not be involved in any day-to-day runnings or behind-the-scenes decisions any longe
But when that will happen in the near future remains unclear, and clarity over the takeover situation is what the
Toffees faithful will desperately be clamouring for should the wait spill well into 2024.
