Jason Kelce Admits He Was Upset During Eagles-Bills Game.
The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Buffalo Bills, a team that seems to be finding ways to inflict more wounds on itself, with a thrilling 37-34 victory on Sunday in overtime.
The Eagles fell behind by 10 points at one point, but they rallied and grabbed a 28-24 lead early in the fourth quarter. However, a touchdown by Buffalo wide receiver Gabe Davis with less than two minutes remaining caused them to lose 31-28.
Philly got the ball back and looked to get into field goal range, but star center Jason Kelce was called for a false start on that drive — twice.
He says that he was upset as a result, via his “New Heights” podcast.
Because of the two five-yard penalties that were assessed, Philly had to get a 59-yard field goal from kicker Jake Elliott in order to force overtime, and Kelce says he was upset that he put Elliott in the situation of having to make such a long field goal.
But in overtime, after Buffalo scored a field goal of their own, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts ran the ball into the end zone for the touchdown that won the game.
With the victory, the Eagles’ record increased to an NFL-leading 10-1, and they still appear to be the best football club in the league.
This Sunday, they will play host to the San Francisco 49ers, a team they thrashed in the NFC championship game the previous season—but only after their quarterback, Brock Purdy, tore his UCL in the early going of the game.
