A Defender Targeted by Tottenham for £69 million says he would love to play in the Premier League.

A Defender Targeted by Tottenham for £69 million says he would love to play in the Premier League.

In recent weeks, Tottenham Hotspur has been connected to Juventus defender Gleison Bremer.

Calciomercato, an Italian publication, reports that Spurs “remain on the lookout” for the 26-year-old.

Now, Bremer himself has given an interview to The Telegraph where he talks about his love of the Premier League.

The Brazil international says he “would like to” play in the English top flight at some point in his career.

However, in a blow to Spurs, Bremer insists he’s happy at Juve for the time being.

“I like La Liga and the Premier League,” said the reported Tottenham target, who described himself as an “aggressive” defender.

“But the Premier League is a very exciting championship and I watch a lot of matches and they are very entertaining.

“Although we are among the greatest teams in the world, I am currently focused on Juventus and winning trophies with them.

One day, I would like to play in the Premier League.”

Bremer has been making an impression for the Serie A powerhouses, and in addition to Tottenham, teams like Chelsea and Manchester United are also interested in him.

Tottenham- Spurs eyeing defender ‘comparable to Virgil van Dijk’It’s no surprise that Spurs are reportedly trying to sign Bremer.

After all, he’s a world-class defender in his prime.

In 2022, he was the Serie A Defender of the Year, and last term, he made it into their Team of the Season.

Scouting publication Foot The Ball stated that Bremer’s statistics were “comparable to Virgil van Dijk and Ruben Dias” the previous year.

In addition to being a superb ball-presser, he excels at recovery, interceptions, aerial duels, and poses a threat on the opposing end of the field.

Bremer is “a true Serie A defender,” according to FTB.

Without any difficulty, he can intercept, tackle, and clear the ball.

Spurs might have to search elsewhere in January, though, for defenders to bolster their roster.

Not only does he not seem to be in any hurry to depart, but his estimated fee is very high.

Finally, Il Bianconero revealed earlier this year that the Brazilian was valued at €80 million (£69 million) by the Italian powerhouses.

That might have increased even more by now.
