Club is ready to discuss a star on Loan from Saints with Southampton.
In light of Paul Onuachu’s stellar start for the Black Sea Storm, Trabzonspor
is getting ready to speak with Southampton about adding a buyout option to his loan agreement.
The Nigerian striker played little for the remainder of the season
after joining Southampton, a struggling Premier League team, in January.
Onuachu concluded a season-long loan move to
Turkish club Trabzonspor, and Saints were relegated to the
Championship, ending their successful season in the top division.
In his first eight games, he has already personally contributed to
seven goals for the Burgundy Blues, demonstrating his prolific nature.
The supporters of Trabzonspor and the club’s management are
pleased with his performances and are prepared for the forward to advance.
It has also been reported that Southampton wanted to
add a €15 million buy option for Onuachu when he joined
Trabzonspor, but the Turkish team rejected it. Now that the
player has made a strong start to the loan spell, they want to
keep him permanently, and it has been suggested that they
will try to reduce the amount originally asked by Saints for
the option to buy. These developments are reported by the
Turkish daily Sabah. The Burgundy Blues are set to speak
with Saints to add an option to buy at the end of the Nigeria international’s loan spell.
